Mounting Tony Roberts' artworks always incorporate an appropriate mounting - and the larger sculptures are usually mounted by him personally. The actual fittings used depend upon both the location where the work is to be displayed, the nature of the sculpture itself, and the preference of the owner, of course.. Plaques and wall or window based art are often mounted on fine stainless steel cables for hanging. Larger, heavier works are best wall-mounted on strong offset fixings, holding the panel a few centimetres away from the wall. Outside sculptures usually simply slip over a supplied copper rod which is buried into the ground. Mobile and hanging sculptures are either fitted with a stainless steel cable loop for hanging, or a fixing which can be screwed or bolten into place.. |
